Such a interesting math question
Three man went to the hotel but they didn't realize each other. the boss of hotel told them there is only one room can include three man. So they paid 30 dollar to get this room and each of them paid 10 dollars. Some minutes later, the boss give back 5 dollars to them to show his apologizing. he called waiter to help him give back to them. the waiter take 2 dollars and give back only 3 dollars.At that time ,each of three man get 1 dollar and it's equal to everyone paid 9 dollars. Three paid 27 dollars and add waiter's 2 dollar it's only 29 dollars. Why?

ReplyDeleteThis is a very famous math riddle. It shows how language can confuse math because 25+3+2=30. The only reason we think there is an extra dollar is because of the last sentence. the bellboy's 2 dollars is part of that 27. Its really 27 + 3 .
Remind me to tell you my favourite math riddle...
It is really strange and I am almost frustrated because of think about it. How come? I hope to know the answer.
